This is a transcription of ‘A Special Mini-Episode About Our 2021 Audience Survey.’
[cheerful music]
David: Hello and welcome to a special mini episode of Strong Sense of Place. As you probably know on our show, we usually get curious about a destination somewhere in the world. But today we are getting curious about you.
Melissa: Beautiful you. Give yourself a little hug right now. We recently wrapped up season two and we’re getting ready for season three. And this is very exciting for us. I realize I’m saying those things very dramatically. That is because when we started the show, we had no idea if anyone would listen.
David: Yeah.
Melissa: And here we all are together. We literally could not do all of this without you. Thank you so much for listening to the show and being so supportive and enthusiastic.
David: Yeah, we we think of you as part of the Strong Sense of Place team.
Melissa: Soon we’re probably going to have some kind of badge or a sash or a saber, a secret handshake, something —
David: A saber.
Melissa: Maybe a fex and a saber.
David: Good. Let’s work on that.
Melissa: Put that on the to do list.
David: Ok, so we think of you as part of our . We are now at a point where we are curious about what you’re thinking about how we’re doing and what we can do to make the show better for you. Tto do that, ?We’ve put together a short survey so that you can share your feedback with us.
Melissa: It should only take a couple of minutes and it should be kind of fun. There are questions about the different elements of our podcast and our website. Plus, there’s a lot of room for you to tell us about whatever else is on your mind.
David: Also, you’re invited to ask us anything, and we will answer your questions in an upcoming little mini-episode like this one.
Melissa: That’s always really fun and also a little nerve-racking.
David: It is!
Melissa: The other thing you get to do is suggest a destination or a theme for season three.
David: Right.
Melissa: As you may know, so far we’ve decided that we are covering the Arctic, Hollywood, Costa Rica, and newsrooms. That leaves eight other slots for season three open. And we are asking you to suggest one.
David: Also bonus: If you provide your email at the end of the survey, you’ll be entered into a drawing for a $50 gift card to an independent bookstore of your choice.
Melissa: So you get to express yourself and maybe win some free books.
David: Exactly. And we will be back in a week or two with the results of our survey and the Ask Us Anything mini-episode.
Melissa: In the interim, I’m updating the website with new blog posts and book recommendations every week. And on Instagram, we’ve brought back something that we did last summer, which is we pick a theme for the week and post images all week long that go with that theme. Last week we did colorful cities.
David: That was very nice.
Melissa: Yeah, it’s really fun to kind of travel in our imaginations to these special spots around the globe.
David: So to take our survey, go to strongsenseofplace.com/survey or there’s a banner on our home page. You can click there. Don’t forget to give us your email address to win $50 and books from your favorite bookstore. Thanks in advance for your participation, and we will talk to you soon.
