SSoP Podcast: A Mini-Episode About Survey Results & What We're Reading Right Now

Monday, 6 July, 2020

On our show, we usually get curious about far-flung destinations and great books that can transport us there. But a few weeks ago, we invited you to participate in our audience survey — and wow! you did.

In this mini-episode, we share some of the results from our end-of-Season-1 audience survey, preview changes we’re making to the show, discuss updates to the website, and announce the first four destinations for Season 2. Spoiler: We think you’re going to like them! We also discuss a few of the books we’ve read lately.

The trailer for our podcast is live! In this mini-episode, we talk about what the phrase 'strong sense of place' means to us, why we started this show, our no-spoiler guarantee, and why we think you'll love the podcast.
Casiopea is a heroine you can believe in: smart, brave, sweet but scrappy. Each of her days is much like the one before and the one after, until she meets the Mayan god of death and has the adventure of her life.
This weekend, take an unsettling but stylish adventure to an isolated mansion in 1950s Mexico. Yes, the Doyle family is creepy and the house is quite sinister, but our heroine Noemí is a charming and feisty companion.
From a luxury cruise to battered warships and open seas to exotic ports, the ocean is a compelling setting for stories of big adventure, quiet moments, human vs. nature, and the drama sparked by close quarters aboard ship.
We visit the Windy City for a deep-dive into what makes Chicago different from every other city in America. We discuss books we love that explore Chicago's culture, food, and history of rabble-rousers and heroes.
The circus is an enchanted place where people can fly and a big red nose is a happy sight. Where the smell of popcorn and peanuts mingles with sawdust. Where the unimaginable becomes completely possible before our eyes.
