16 Instagrammers That Showcase the Stunning Nature & Māori Culture of New Zealand

Monday, 12 October, 2020

New Zealand is the place to be if you want to tromp about like a hobbit in fantastical landscapes. As you know if you’ve seen The Lord of the Rings movies, all 12 hours of the series were filmed in New Zealand.

There are majestic forests, sparkling beaches, craggy mountains, fjords, and flowered meadows, all of which make New Zealand a daydreamy place for outdoor adventures — and beautiful photos thereof. There’s also Māori mythology and tattoos and haka, plus wildlife that looks like it’s straight out of a children’s adventure book.

The photos in these Instagram accounts will whisk you away to New Zealand. It’s a virtual way to hang out with Kiwis (the people) and kiwis (the adorable birds) and get a taste of the islands’ lifestyle and landscape.

The Unlikely Escape of Uriah Heep is a suspenseful fantasy novel set in Wellington. What better way to take a snack break than with the NZ treat called Fairy Bread?! Like the novel, it's sweet and a bit surprising.
It's never smooth sailing when the Honorable Phyrne Fisher is involved — but it is always a lot of dangerous and delicious fun. Dine on this delightful shrimp salad while catching up on Phryne's high seas adventures.
